Langtang trekking combines the remote and amazing valley of Langtang, with the high mountain lakes at Gosainkund and the beautiful Helambu Valley. Visit the beautiful Langtang National park and then trek to the end of the valley to view the wonderful ice flutes of Gyangchempo.
Following the Trisuli River north of Kathmandu, we drive through Trasuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. Then we start to trek into the Langtang valley, crossing the river many times as we trek up along a gorge-like, lower section of the valley. We pass through oak and rhododendron forests and even cross glacial moraine on our way to the Tamang village of Langtang.
A little further up than langtang valley is Kyangin Gompa, where we stop overnight and we visit the local yak cheese factory. on our way up to view the glaciers, which mark the gateway into Tibet. Back to trek down and we trek through Syabru village and Sing Gompa to a highland, where the holy lake Gosainkund is situated. Crossing the Llaurebena Pass (4610m), we continue south, leaving the Langtang region behind us as we trek through the Helambu valley to Chisapani. From here it's just a one day trek back to Kathmandu.
